This year the Little Scholars family is supporting fundraising in any way we can, we have chosen to support The Ride to Conquer Cancer this January.
My name is Kyle Owens and I will be participating in The Ride to Conquer Cancer this year. After watching my friend and father participate last year I researched and found that 1 in 2 Australian men and 1 in 3 Australian woman will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. As a 15 year old, I was horrified to hear these statistics and therefore decided to sign up for the 2015 event as I was too young last year to participate. The Ride benefits the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre which in fact is the only hospital solely dedicated to cancer and its research. The ride will take place this October in Melbourne cycling 200 km’s from Melbourne city to the Mornington Peninsula and returning the following day. My aim is to raise $2500 towards the research. To assist with my commitment I would love your support in making a donation no matter the amount to my donation page. To put it in simply terms for every kilometre that I ride I need to raise $12.50.
Kyle is a family friend of Little Scholars and we are so proud to support him with this courage challenge.
We are asking Families to donate a gold coin and Little Scholars has committed to match every dollar raised for Kyle.
The children are going to commence a project to support Kyle & follow his journey. Every little bit helps!
